Emedeene

EMEDEENE (Maite Duten Neskak) is an independent space dedicated to research, production, and support around performativity in contemporary art, based in Donostia. Founded in 2024, it has established itself as a meeting place between body, thought, and artistic practice, from a feminist and queer perspective. That same year, it launched its public program led by artists Izaro Ieregi and Ane Zelaia.

Since then, its performance cycle has hosted creators such as Laura Sam, Mar Reyjkkavik, Lorea Burge, Mark Vives, Pelumi Adejumo, Tartar Kolektiboa, Iker Munduate, Idoia Zabaleta, and Andoni Zamora, as well as a thinking residency with Danele Sarriugarte and monographic workshops such as Pieles with Izaro Ieregi and Ageda Blasco. The space has also presented professional works by artists such as Ainhoa Lekerika and Isabel de Naveran. In addition, readings and walks have been organized around books of interest to the space, and work has been carried out with texts by Lara Molina and Irantzu Yaldebere, created as written accounts of the performance cycle.
