Jon Ibala

He defines himself by developing elements and forms without a fixed destination, like fragments of a story that doesn’t yet exist. His painting hints at figures that open up previously nonexistent paths—paths waiting to be named. They are scenes and testimonies of an invented world, where form becomes play and vice versa. He creates a dialogue between the magical and the everyday, thus resolving tensions between order and chaos, between reality and the magic of play that shapes his figuration.
