laurita siles
Artist and researcher born in Marbella in 1981. Laurita Siles earned her Doctorate Cum Laude from the University of the Basque Country in 2017. She shows concern for the territory, from the environmental crisis to the nostalgia provoked by a loss of heritage.
She currently lives and works in Karrantza (Biscay) and works as a co-founder member of the Mutur Beltz project; from creation, design and cultural management. Expanding the space for reflection, debate and dissemination on the rural world from the Art.
With an itinerant background in the Fine Arts between faculties and schools in different parts of the world: Malaga, Valencia, Iceland, Vancouver, Canada and the Basque Country. She has also enjoyed grants and artistic residencies in Arteleku, San Sebastian; Leonardo Da Vinci, Marlouflims. Bordeaux, (France); MA Studio. Beijing, (China); The Banff Centre, Banff, (Canada); Gullkistan. Laugarvatn, (Iceland); Fundación BilbaoArte; Shedding the skin. Linz (Austria). Likewise, she has carried out a large number of individual and collective activities of various types, both at home and abroad, including exhibitions, actions, visual projections, conferences, and more.
