Nazario Díaz

Linares, 1985. Díaz mainly carries out his work in performance art, focused on the tension produced between body, gaze, and writing. In recent years, he has participated in various collective learning contexts such as the master’s programme in Performing Practice and Visual Culture (Madrid, 2016-2017), PICA (Azala, Vitoria-Gasteiz, 2018-2019), Invitación (Bilbao, 2019-2020), and PACAP5 (Forum Dança, Lisboa, 2021-2022), exchanging methodologies and tools pertaining to the field of dance and performing arts. He is currently developing Conversation pieces with the Metal Performers sound collective together with Basque Country-native choreographer Isaak Erdoiza, researching questions of sound as they relate to choreography, and Otro borrado a través de la insistencia, within the framework of the Advanced Programme for Performing Arts Creation, curated by João Fiadeiro for Forum Dança (Lisboa). From these experiences, the pieces Fuego verde (BAD Bilbao, 2021) and Amanecer alto cielo (Azkuna Zentroa | Alhóndiga Bilbao, 2024) were born.
