Zuaza, Ayala, 1990.  A graduate in Fine Arts from the University of the Basque Country (UPV), Raisa Álava continued her training at the Elisava school in Barcelona with a master’s degree in Illustration and Comics. She also trained in ceramics and today combines both interests with printmaking and graphic production.

“My proposal is a language of renewal that encourages moving away from traditional hierarchies and rules of proportion and composition. I experiment with an excess of elements and my images have free interpretations and fictions that can be intuited.”
