taxio ardanaz

Taxio Ardanaz (Pamplona, 1978) lives and works in Bilbao. With a BA in Fine Arts from the University of the Basque Country, Taxio Ardanaz has expanded his training with artists and curators such as Julie Mehretu, Esther Ferrer, Itziar Okariz, Andrés Duque, Miroslaw Balka, and Peio Aguirre. In recent years, he has completed residencies at Tabakalera Donostia, the Spanish Royal Academy in Rome, Amna Suraka (Iraqi Kurdistan), Artista x Artista (Havana), Kunsthaus Bregenz, and Oficina de Arte (Mexico City).

Ardanaz has shown individually in Bilbao: Carreras Múgica Gallery (2023 and 2017); Palma de Mallorca: Pelaires Gallery (2022); Pamplona: El Sario, UPNA (2021); Madrid: Tabacalera Promoción del Arte (2017); Havana: Artista x Artista (2016); and Mexico City: Ateneo Español de México (2012).

Among his collective exhibitions, of particular note are “Premi Ciutat de Palma Antoni Gelabert d’Arts Visuals 2023”, “Ante el recuerdo desmantelado: memoria y Guerra civil” (Museo de la Paz, Gernika), “Roma Akademia” (Azkuna Zentroa), and “Complexo Colosso” (CIAJG, Guimarães).
