Taxio Ardanaz (Pamplona, 1978) lives and works in Bilbao. A Fine Arts graduate from the University of the Basque Country, over recent years he has been awarded several residential grants at the Kunsthaus Museum of Bregenz, Austria (2014), BilbaoArte (2013), the Art Office in Mexico City (2012) and the MA Studio in Beijing (2009).

He has done a number of one-man shows in Bilbao: Gio Bat (2015); Egurre, Sala Rekalde (2014); Mexico City: Venceremos, Spanish Culture Centre in Mexico (2012), ¡A pesar de todo!, AN Studio (2011); in Madrid: Luz Perpetua, Raquel Ponce Gallery (2013), Forlorn Hope, RMS El Espacio (2011); and Pamplona: Resignados, at the Citadel Exhibition Centre (2008). Among a number of collective exhibitions, his participation in Entornos Próximos 2008, Artium, Vitoria-Gasteiz is worthy of note.

He has received a number of artistic creation grants and awards such as the  Pamplona Young Artists First Prize (1999) and the Navarra Encounters Second Prize (2007), and was selected for the itinerant exhibition Ertibil 2008, the International Pollença Plastic Arts Competition Prize (2010), and the Ciutat de Palma Prize (2014), among others.
