art omi 2020-2021

After assessing the entries from the finalists, the international judging panel from Art Omi awarded the residency in Art Omi to Nadia Barkate.

The residency was scheduled for June 18-July 14, 2020 and, due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, was postponed to 2021. Therefore, Nadia Barkate, the artist selected for the 2020 edition, would be the resident of Art Omi 2021 between June 25 and July 19, 2021. Due to the COVID situation, the artist finally resigned from the residency so therefore it was decided to cancel this edition.

eremuak, in collaboration with Art Omi, is calling for applications for an international residency for residents in the Basque Autonomous Community who have been professionally active for at least the past 3 years.

The proposal aims to support the internationalization of artists and/or creators working in the context of the visual arts.

The residency will take place in Art Omi, located in Ghent, a rural New York State.  eremuak will cover the travel expenses of the selected artist, provide a travel allowance of €500 and will take care of a basic health insurance for the selected person. The artist will also enjoy a private studio, shared living quarters and free meals during the residency.
