EMEDEENE is a space for interconnecting personal experience and contemporary art research. It’s a space for embodied exploration, working from the lines of inquiry that arise from the interests of the artists who make up the group in relation to contemporary experience.
We produce, research, present, and develop different proposals within what we understand as performativity and its creative processes. This way of working does not recognize disciplinary boundaries, as performativity has become diffused throughout the entire artistic field.
EMEDEENE is aware that it produces and researches within the context of capitalism. It contemplates the precarious conditions that capitalism proposes as a way of life and the apocalyptic discourses that arise from this system. Conscious that we are subjects attached to this experience, MDN researches and produces between the body and affects, tools that generate utopian scenarios while proposing critical discourses.
For this, we designate love as a political act, as a verb, as a complex radical act that violates evil. From a deep transfeminist discourse, it is our way of responding, and we do so through artistic practice.
