MUJER_MÁQUINA_FÁBRICA

MUJER_MÁQUINA_FÁBRICA arises from a search to rescue the legacy labour-related vocabulary that transcends the boundaries of work and imposes on us ways of living, and to rewrite it through photographic memory from a feminist perspective.

Within the framework of the research, three photographic archives from the BAC (Basque Autonomous Community) have been selected, those related to the representation and photography of female workers, machines and factories from the 1940s to the 1960s. The exhibition displays archive material taken from the Municipal Archives of Vitoria-Gasteiz, the Municipal Archives of Bilbao and the Kutxa Fototeka Foundation in Donostia/San Sebastian that has been used to generate the project.

The artists invited to reinterpret and rewrite this material are: Maider Aldasoro, Toia Bonino, María Alcaide, Yone Estivariz, Rocío Bueno, Laia Abril, Irati Cano, Maider Jiménez, Zaloa Ipiña, Irene Zottola and Rosa Neutro.
