incursion / excursion

incursion / excursion is an experimental research programme which will take the form of proposals whose main objective will be to explore and test by means of art other forms of community through different public activities guided by artists. incursion / excursion is a programme in which we will invite artists to think and exercise images, scenes or moments that propose other forms of shared relation and organisation through two opposing notions or movements: incursion or excursion. In this way, we will invite three artists to respond, with their language and ways of doing things, to the proposal of formulating other communities by taking over space, leaving it or escaping.

Thus, an exercise of incursion would involve carrying out activities that propose turning Sarean into a place never seen before: into a mysterious garage, a secret room, an inter-dimensional gate, a bonfire, the inside of a tree, a hole in the ground, the pores of a toad’s skin. An invitation to embody and inhabit in a different way. Inversely, an exercise of excursion would seek to build or seek a way out to observe and explore the outside through a desire to look at structures and inspiring shapes that tell us of other ways of being: spending a night in the mountain to listen to nocturnal birds, learning to scuba dive to inhabit another medium, learning about new species of wild mushrooms, observing ants. An invitation to go out and study how other species and organisms live: looking carefully, blending in with a space.
