malús arbide

Donostia-San Sebastian, 1958. Malús Arbide is an artist and textile graphics illustrator specialising in printing and stamping techniques. Her work combines artistic creation and textile illustration. In addition, she also teaches at specialised schools with a focus on areas relating to visual arts, design, and pattern printing.

Malús has presented her work as a textile pattern designer at international trade fairs such as Indigo (Paris, 2004) and Tissu Premier (Lille, 2006).

As a visual artist, she has presented numerous exhibitions, including individual showings such as Luca, Narata (Bilbao, 2016); Superficies, La Sonrisa de la Ballesta (Madrid, 2008); Dentro Fuera Extraño, Ciudadela (Pamplona, 2007); and Altxerri Galeria (Donostia-San Sebastian, 1995); as well as collective showings such as El Contrato, Azkuna Zentroa (Bilbao, 2015); Tesoro Público, Artium (Vitoria-Gasteiz, 2013); Acepciones, the Trayecto Gallery (Vitoria-Gasteiz, 1995); and El Recreo, in Sajazarra (La Rioja); Sala BBK (Bilbao) and Sala Amárica (Vitoria-Gasteiz, 1992-1993).

She has received various artistic creation grants, and her work can be found in collections such as those at Artium, the Provincial Councils of Biscay, Gipuzkoa, and Navarre, Bilbao’s City Hall, and the BilbaoArte Foundation.
