fem tour truck festival

Fem Tour Truck  is an international feminist video festival with a series of performance, activism, short film and video-art works related to gender issues chosen after an international call that received more than 300 videos and from which 50 proposals were selected*. The festival will travel to the following cities in a truck to be installed in their public spaces: Bilbao, Madrid, Valencia, Barcelona and Vitoria in Spain, Covilhã and Lisbon in Portugal, Cuenca, Quito, Manta and Guayaquil in Ecuador, and Bogotá in Colombia. Each city’s schedule is full of activities and performances by local artists.

The festival has been organised by Guerrilla Food Sound System and MAV, and is part of the activities of the Miradas de Mujeres (Perspectives of women) 2016 Biennial. Between us all we fight for the liberation of gender, of sexuality, of identity and, above all, for the decolonisation of the body in patriarchal and cultural systems that impose taboos and discrimination against women and transsexual individuals.

Several institutions such as those already mentioned are collaborating with the event, in addition to: Coolabora, a social intervention cooperative in Portugal; the Gender Studies School of the National University of Colombia; the Department of Culture and the Faculty of Communication Science of Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí University and the MediaLab of the Faculty of Arts of Cuenca in Ecuador; the eremuak programme by the Basque Government whose current receiving entity is Azkuna Zentroa and the Factories of creation programme by the Basque Government.
